McDonogh Text Alert Subscriptions

McDonogh School sends SMS text alerts to keep our community informed about weather events, school security situations, and other time-sensitive news. You may subscribe to any combination of alert categories and choose which seasons apply to you.

Outdoor event coordinators: Anyone coordinating outdoor events on campus — whether school-sponsored or third-party — is required to subscribe to Weather and Critical Security alerts during the dates their event is ongoing.

Subscribing to McDonogh text messages is completely optional. It is not a requirement of enrollment at McDonogh, of employment, or of participation in any school event, program, or service. Parents, students, and employees may decline text messages entirely — or stop them at any time by replying STOP — and will still receive school communications through our other channels, including email, phone calls, and mailings sent home.

Previously unsubscribed? If you ever opted out by texting STOP, your carrier blocks our messages — including the verification code. Text the word START to 410‑709‑1730 first to resume receiving messages, then return here to manage your subscriptions.

That code is the only text you're agreeing to right now. After verifying, each alert category is a separate choice, off by default — you can choose none and receive no further messages.
