Upper School Shadow Days
Be an Eagle for the Day!
Prospective students can spend the day visiting academic and arts classes and enjoying lunch with an Upper School guide to experience McDonogh School firsthand.
Shadow Days At-A-Glance
- All students are hosted in their current grade except ninth grade applicants, who will visit with the ninth grade.
- Visit dates are held several times a week from October 2026 through the middle of January 2027.
- Visits generally begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 2:00 p.m.
How to Register for a Shadow Day
Shadow Day registration can be completed upon submission of the initial online application form, which will be open from Tuesday, September 1, through Friday, December 4, 2026.
Student and Parent Interviews
If your child is spending the day with us for a Shadow Day, we will schedule their admissions interview during a non-academic class on the day of the visit. It is important to us to get to know your child and to give them the opportunity to ask us questions about McDonogh.
Parent interviews are not required but are welcome and can be arranged either on the day of Shadow Day or virtually via Zoom on a date after Shadow Day.
