Chantal Cross Named McDonogh Chief Human Resources Officer
McDonogh School is pleased to announce that Chantal Cross will join the community as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective August 17, 2026.
Cross comes to McDonogh from Loyola Blakefield, where she has led human resources since 2020, culminating nearly two decades at the school across a range of leadership roles. She has directed the school's employee engagement efforts, re-imagined its annual performance review process, and championed a wellness program that continues to thrive. A member of the President's Leadership Team, she helped lead the school's strategic planning process and served on its COVID-19 response team, guiding key decisions to support employees through the pandemic.
A SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) who knows the independent school world well, Cross brings deep experience in talent acquisition, employee engagement, and benefits, along with a steady focus on the day-to-day work of supporting faculty and staff.
"What stood out during the search was Chantal's thoughtfulness and genuine care for people," says Head of School Dave Farace '87. "It was clear that she keeps faculty and staff at the center of her work, and we know that will serve our community well."
