Academics and Dorm Life

The boarding program is set up to make it easy for students to get their work done. Each night, from 7:15 to 9:00 p.m., students have study hall under the supervision of a faculty proctor who is one of many people and resources available to students to support their efforts. Underclassmen feel comfortable asking older students for help in subjects that give them trouble, and upperclassmen turn to each other for support and explanations.

By the end of the year, most students have reached the point where they are self-driven. Many are surprised to find that they receive some of the best report cards of their McDonogh careers.

The informal and fun interaction with a wide variety of adults during the year helps expand each student's support system.
