Camera Use Policy

Researchers are permitted to take digital photographs of collections housed in the Wilson | Young Archives & Special Collections under the following restrictions:

  • No flash photography, external lighting, or portable scanners are allowed.
  • No more than 10% of any collection may be reproduced.
  • No photographs may be taken of the Archives, other researchers, or staff.
  • All requests for photography are considered on a case-by-case basis. The Archives has the right to refuse photography of any materials based on condition, donor restrictions, and/or copyright law.
  • Images may be used for research, educational, or instructional purposes only. Researchers must obtain written permission from the Wilson | Young Archives & Special Collections at McDonogh School if they wish to publish in any format.
  • The Wilson | Young Archives & Special Collections assumes no responsibility for copyright infringement or breach of Fair Use regulations. It is the full responsibility of the researcher to secure all copyright clearances and permissions, and all rights necessary for reproduction and/or publication of all materials.  (Please see the Copyright Policy for additional information.)
